Summer Learning and Reading

It is as important as ever that our young people remain engaged and continue to read this summer. Elementary students will receive books, a reading response journal, sight word flashcards for grades K-3 and a Scholastic reading and math workbook in the days to come. Your student’s elementary school will share specifics on that distribution.

Early childhood through 12th grade digital learning resources will remain available, here: https://libguides.ops.org/athome.

I am excited to share that our Summer Reading Challenge is back! We quickly exceeded our goal last year, so we’ve raised the bar. We challenge students to read a total of 2,000,000 minutes in the months to come. Reading is one of the best things your student can do to learn. Encourage your student to read at least 30 minutes each day. Make sure to log your time spent reading, here: https://district.ops.org/ABOUTOPS/SummerReading.aspx#103181327-how-many-minutes-have-you-read-today

Online Homework Resources:

Learning packets are on the OPS academic resources webpage, which is linked here.

Digital resources to engage students from early childhood through high school can be found at OPS At Home Learning: OPS Resources webpage: Those digital resources are available by clicking here.
